County updates list of roads closed due to flooding as of April 17 at 5 P.M.

St. Louis County Public Works teams have been busy working on two fronts: clearing snow - as much as 6-8 inches fell in parts of the county - while also monitoring road conditions and making repairs when possible. Two more roads were closed today due to flooding or deteriorating conditions from the spring thaw. Meanwhile, five roads have re-opened today.

Townhall meetings set for Medical Assistance recipients regarding renewal process

For the last three years, anyone receiving Medical Assistance (MA) for insurance has not had to complete the normally-annual eligibility renewal process. This was due to a pandemic-era rule established to ensure continuous insurance coverage for people. However, this rule has now ended and the renewal requirement will again resume.

To help people better understand the renewal process, timeline, and resources to help complete the renewal application, St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services staff will hold two townhall meetings later this month for MA recipients. They will be:

Prescription Drug take-back day is April 22

Prescription Drug take-back day is April 22

Saturday, April 22, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Medication drop boxes will be staffed and available for take-back from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the St. Louis County Sheriff's offices in Virginia and Hibbing. Medications to be disposed of should be brought in in their
original containers with any personal identifying information crossed off.
