The fee covers attendance for all days of the conference and admittance to the exhibit hall. Participants can attend the institutes and workshops of their choice throughout the conference. Minnesota Board of Social Work continuing education units (C.E.U.s) will be available; some C.E.U.s may also fulfill Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements.

2021 Conference Keynote Speaker

Opening KeyNote

Sonya Renee Taylor is an author, poet, spoken word artist, speaker, humanitarian and social justice activist, educator, and founder of The Body is Not An Apology movement. She has won multiple National and International poetry slams, and has performed for audiences across the US and Canada, New Zealand and Australia, the British Isles and and the Netherlands. Her writing explores the intersections of race and gender on the topic of body positivity, critiquing the  current ideas society has around the movement, making it more inclusive and claiming space for those who have been noticeably left out of the conversation.

 

Closing Keynote
Dr. Maryam M. Jernigan-Noesi is a licensed psychologist, professor, clinician-scientist, and equity and inclusion consultant with a particular emphasis on race and culture. She focuses on the investigation of the social determinants of racial health disparities among marginalized populations, culturally-responsive assessment and treatment models, child and adolescent social-emotional development, and Black maternal health. As an educator, Dr. Jernigan-Noesi has over 15 years of formal instructional experience in higher education, graduate, and professional schools where she has earned recognition for exceptional teaching.
