REGARDING FIREARMS PERMITS
EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2021:
FIREARMS PERMITS
Beginning Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office will resume accepting applications for Permits to Carry in person at your local sheriff's office. Permit to Carry applications will only be accepted in person. Any mailed Permits to Carry received with a postmark after May 31st, 2021, will be returned to the applicant.
If submitting a Permit to Purchase/Permit to Acquire application via mail, email or fax, please remember to include a clear copy of your driver's license. Permits to Purchase may also be submitted in person beginning June 1st, 2021, as an additional option.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office continues to serve the public during these uncertain times. As always, in an emergency or to file a report, call 911.
There is currently no public access to administration offices at the Courthouses or Public Safety Building. You are encouraged to instead contact us using the phone numbers or email addresses shown at right (scroll down to find on a mobile device).
Visiting hours at the jail are suspended until further notice.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office consists of eight agencies or divisions: Sheriff, Boat and Water Safety, Homeland Security/Emergency Management, Rescue Squad, Law Enforcement Services, Emergency Communications, Radio Maintenance and Jail.
The Sheriff's Agency has five subdivisions: Administration, Patrol, Investigations, Civil/Warrants, and Court Security.
