RANGER is St. Louis County’s newest K-9 beginning his service in November 2019 after attending a three month training with his handler, Deputy Jason Kuhnly.  RANGER is a German Shepherd from the Czech Republic and is a dual purpose trained K-9 assigned to the Sheriff’s Office in Duluth.

LOUIE is one of St. Louis County’s veteran K-9’s serving with Deputy Tim Officer since June 2014.  He is a German Shepherd from the Czech Republic and is trained in narcotics detection, evidence recovery, suspect search and tracking.  K-9 Louie is assigned to the Sheriff’s Office in Virginia.

DIESEL also has served the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office since June 2014 alongside his handler, Deputy Ben Fye.  DIESEL specializes in tracking and apprehension along with narcotics detection and evidence recovery.  DIESEL is a German Shepherd imported from the Czech Republic.  He is assigned to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in Duluth.

WESSON and handler, Deputy Ryan Smith, are both are assigned to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in Hibbing.  WESSON has been serving with his handler since 2017.  WESSON is trained in tracking, apprehension, handler protection, evidence recovery and narcotics detection.  He is a 75lb. German Shepherd imported from the Czech Republic .
