St. Louis County Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC)

 
 

The St. Louis County Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC) is intended to bring together diverse perspectives on mental health in order to identify resources, changes, additions and improvements to local mental health services for children and adults. The goal being to utilize the knowledge of diverse groups of individuals in order to improve the mental health delivery in our communities.

The LACs are established to provide advice and recommendations to their counties and county boards.

The purpose of the LAC is:

  • Receive and Review Input:The LAC will receive and share input from community stakeholders regarding the effectiveness of local mental health services.
  • Recommend:The LAC will provide input to the St. Louis County Board, Public Health and Human Services including an annual report on recommendations for how to improve mental health services.
  • Inform:The LAC will advise on how to improve coordination of mental health care in the community and share insights on emerging factors, cultural considerations and trends related to mental health for children and adults.

 

 
The Southern St. Louis County Mental Health Advisory Council (LAC) is completing a community survey on accessing mental health care in St. Louis County. The intent of the survey is for the LAC to understand where gaps in services are in our community and give space to community members who would like to share their experiences with the SLC Mental Health Advisory Council. The LAC is made up of folks with lived experience as well as service providers.  The survey is anonymous however we may share individual narratives that do not include any personally identifying information.
